Context
We have exclusive commercial representation rights in India for Barcelona football club. This role will be responsible for building the India commercial engine from the ground up and monetising the Club’s IP across:
· Naming rights partnerships
· Brand sponsorships and integrations
· Merchandising and licensing
· Broader marketing and fan engagement opportunities
This is a market-building + revenue ownership role, not a standard sales or marketing position.
Core Responsibilities
· Own and drive all commercial revenue generation in India
· Identify, pitch, negotiate, and close strategic brand partnerships
· Develop naming rights and integrated sponsorship opportunities
· Build long-term relationships with brands, agencies, and media partners
· Define and execute the India market entry and growth strategy
· Work closely with global team to localise the Club’s commercial approach
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for a senior professional with:
· 8–15 years’ experience in sports marketing / sponsorship sales / brand partnerships
· Strong track record of closing high-value deals in sports/media/entertainment
· Deep understanding of the Indian sports sponsorship ecosystem
· Existing relationships across CMOs, media agencies, and brand decision-makers
· Experience from sports agencies, leagues, clubs, broadcasters, or brand-side sponsorship teams
Key Expectations
· Strong commercial deal-making capability (not just marketing execution)
· Ability to build and scale a sports IP in a developing market
· Entrepreneurial mindset with ownership orientation
· Strong storytelling ability for brand ROI in sports
· Network-driven candidate (ability to open doors immediately)
